| Festival Description | Ahhhh… summer… We mused about how summer is the time we really connect with all the things important to us: nature, spirituality, relationships, and life-invigorating experiences. We like to think that the 14th-Annual Austin Chamber Music Festival feeds all of these: our passion for the humanity of musical expression, the relationships built through shared experience, and the ‘topping off’ at the level of our souls. This year, we bring in old friends and new friends with the world’s finest: the Cavani, Escher, Carpe Diem, and Brentano String Quartets, as well as the Claremont Piano Trio. And, to mix things up a bit, we bring our personal twist to a chamber music festival by presenting Raul Jaurena and the Texas Tango Five (back by popular demand from last year’s festival), a showing of the 1920’s cult classic film, Der Golem, set to a live score by Betty Olivera, and a special performance by Austin’s country sweetheart, Kelly Willis, in a Finale collaboration with Austin Chamber Music Workshop Student Artists. The Austin Chamber Music Festival is a ‘can’t miss’ for your complete summer experience! |
