Festival Description

Founded in 1959 by George Wein, George Wein's Newport Folk Festival is recognized worldwide, and its long history, and solid reputation among record companies, other music organizations, and artists insure its mention in a variety of different contexts throughout the year. Past performers have included Crosby, Stills & Nash, Wilco, Lucinda Williams, Doc Watson, Rufus Wainwright, Joan Osborne, Steve Earle, and many others.
