Festival Description | The annual Gamble Rogers Folk Festival celebrates the music and storytelling of legendary St. Augustine entertainer Gamble Rogers. Gamble died in 1991 trying to save a drowning tourist at Flagler Beach. The festival was housed at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre followed by a 2 year residence at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds. Beginning in 2010 and beyond the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival has teamed up with the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division and the City of St. Augustine to produce the event in a unique new format. The greatest benefit in the change of location will be the impact the festival will have on downtown merchants, restaurants, and hotels located in the area. This is the first festival of its kind in St. Augustine and will position the event for long term growth in conjunction with the 450th Anniversary of St. Augustine.
