Festival Description

Virgin Mobile FreeFest in is a one day festival that is totally FREE. The festival is free in response to the sluggish economy — so make sure you take advantage of this awesome deal! The festival, usually a two day event, made some changes in 2009 beyond the free entrance and the one day schedule — venue has changed to the Virgin Mobile FreeFest and the attractions include bands and a dance tent.

Formerly known as the Virgin Mobile Music Festival, the two day event featured more than 20 acts on multiple stages, high-quality concessions, art installations and performance art, side shows, chill lounges and covered seating, diverse vendors and non-profit organizations, and lots of unexpected perks. The festival took place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. Pimlico, home of The Preakness Stakes, middle jewel of Thoroughbred horse racing’s Triple Crown, is situated on 140 acres less than an hour from Washington, D.C., 2 hours from Philadelphia, and 3 hours from New York City. Virgin Festival is a green event — eliminating trash, using compostables, and supporting clean energy, mass transit and carpooling, carbon offsetting, public education, using recycled products, and more…
