Festival Description | New Music, Balkan, Klezmer, Jazz, Pop, Slam Poetry, and an Instrument Petting Zoo! The annual Jewish Music Festival, has something to appeal to all ages and backgrounds. The Bay Area concerts take place at venues in San Francisco and Berkeley. The Festival, while attracting world-class artists, never neglects its own roots, the West Coast wing of the klezmer revival born in Berkeley. According to Festival Director Eleanor Shapiro “Our vision is to bring new music to our audience, music by artists who have a profound respect for tradition but also have a strong contemporary sensibility”. |
