The German Dance Platform is a top-level arena for presenting contemporary dance and has risen since then to become one of the most important dance events in Europe. The platform is aimed at guests from Germany and abroad, arts organisers, the arts press and the public, offering a broad spectrum of dance productions within the space of just a few days. The German Dance Platform is also a lively forum for exchange between artists, organisers, arts professionals and other dance enthusiasts. The German Dance Platform’s location changes with each edition. Previous locations have been Berlin (1994), Frankfurt am Main (1996), Munich (1998), Hamburg (2000), Leipzig (2002), Düsseldorf (2004) and Stuttgart (2006). Every institution which hosts the German Dance Platform is taken up in the society of organisers which is committed to working for dance in Germany.
