This annual festival presents authentic folk music from various parts of the world—in which Norwegian folk musicians meet leading performers from abroad. On a solid base of Nordic and Norwegian folk traditions, the festival creates an enjoyable and intimate atmosphere, where traditional dance and music meet new and experimental expressions. The festival has become an important arena for the renewing of folk music. More than 20 concerts and performances are presented including various workshops and classes, exhibitions, dances and clubs.
