Stavanger is located on the south-west coast of Norway. The combination of small-town charm, historical sites and easy access to spectacular scenery makes it an ideal chamber music venue. A festival guest can easily stroll from one concert in the medieval Cathedral to the next at the modern Concert Hall or other venue. Between concerts the fjords and the sandy beaches await. Spontaneity is a keynote of this Festival. The Artistic Directors clarinettist Martin Fröst and pianist Christian Ihle Hadland invite world-renowned musicians who create, experience and share genuine moments of music. With 25 concerts interspersed with rehearsals from early morning to late at night, nothing is routine and each performance unique.
