Festival Description

From April 19–29, 2012 Utrecht, The Netherlands will see the 28th edition of SPRINGDANCE, the leading international festival of contemporary dance and performance. For ten days Utrecht’s city centre will be bustling with dance. The festival presents fresh new and influential performances by innovative choreographers and young talents from different countries. There’s also an extensive fringe programme which includes dance films, flash mob performances, an introductory lecture in contemporary dance for new visitors, and a very handy online ‘what-to-watch’ visitors’ guide to help visitors make a selection from the programme. This year’s theme is dance and visual arts with performances from a.o. Russell Maliphant, Meg Stuart, Batsheva Dance Company, Martin Creed, Tino Sehgal, Trajal Harrell and Ivo Dimchev.
