The Klaipėda Jazz Festival has broadened the number of people who care about art, beauty, and, of course jazz by featuring international and national artists. For the city of Klaipeda and Lithuania the festival has become an important part of the cultural life since 1993. For all these years the performances have remained free of charge and they will continue a such in the future. Previous artists have included performances by masters such as Toots Thielemans, Billy Cobham, Maynard Ferguson, Jean Jacques Milteau, Mike Mainieri, Jim Beard, Victor Bailey, Chico & The Gypsies (former "Gypsy Kings"), "Dutch Swing College Band", and many more. Workshops and open lessons for students of music schools and Klaipeda University Faculty of Arts are free of charge.
