| Festival Description | The international festival Saulkrasti Jazz takes place in Saulkrasti, Latvia each July. A concert program offers the opportunity to see excellent jazz artists from both Latvia and other countries. Added to that, young jazz musicians will be able to refine their skills in a week-long creative workshop. |

Festival Story:
Since 1997 Summer Music Session in cooperation with Modern Music Center has taken an active part in organizing summer camps, concerts and master classes. At that time there were few opportunities to learn and acquire high-quality jazz techniques. Saulkrasti Jazz Festival was started as a Baltic Drummer Summit only for drummers until it outgrew itself. Currently it offers students a variety of musical instruments and music programs. As in the previous years, the festival includes master classes for young musicians, daily jazz concerts, jam sessions and large concerts on the open-air stages.
