| Festival Description | Shir Madness™ is a weekend music festival over 11 hours on Sunday 15 August showcasing and celebrating the diversity of Jewish music and Jewish performers in Australia with guest artists from Israel, Germany, New Zealand, New York, San Francisco, Victoria and Queensland. The festival will feature music to appeal to all tastes: from traditional Jewish music to popular forms of music performed by Jewish musicians today. There will be 4 stages and 40 acts — a virtual musical mixed-plate to choose from! Klezmer, choral, ladino, chassidic, israeli, jazz, cabaret, folk, blues, pop, rock, funk, reggae, classical, cabaret and rap… you’ll find it all at Shir Madness™! |

Artist submissions 2010:
- Festival organisers are currently accepting artist submissions, and the deadline is February 15, 2010.

- Entry is by audition and, although the main emphasis is on Sydney performers, there is also room for interstate and even international acts (enthusiastic enquiries have already been received from as far afield as Perth, Auckland and Tel Aviv!). Among the high-profile bands already enthused about the fest are wild and joyful world-music stars Monsieur Camembert.

The festival kicks off with a Gala Opening Concert on at the Science Theatre at the University of NSW. - Sunday, August 15
The main festival will be held at the Bondi Beach Pavilion the next day, Sunday, August 15, 2010, from 11:00am to 11:00pm featuring over 35 acts on four different stages.
