The primary focus of the weekend is traditional music, song and dance. The festival is built around master workshops and competitions and the richness of the traditional talent in the area. These workshops are designed to improve the technique and skill of the musicians and give participants an insight into different styles of music from different parts of the country. Outdoor activities include traditional Irish music, street busking, a Celebrity Concert, Traditional entertainment, dance, and the all-Ireland bone playing competition. The pub trail is an important part of the weekend attracting the cream of traditional musicians who delight and entertain their audiences.
