The Gyôr Summer International Cultural Festival is held in the city of Gyôr. More than 700 years old, the city provides lovers of culture with a chance to come together in the baroque town. The city comes alive as its squares and courtyards are filled with music and theatre productions, around the riverbanks and the stage by the Rába river, and at the Music Pavilion on Radó island. Programs at the festival regularly include the best productions of the world famous Gyôr Ballet, the Gyôr Philharmonic Orchestra, opera performances by the Gyôr National Theatre, as well as the International Folk Dance, Folk Music Festival and Handicraft Fair, in which Hungarian and foreign ensembles regularly take part. The festival is further enriched by foreign jazz ensembles, solo performances and exhibitions. And something really attractive for everyone — the weekend open air programs are free for all visitors to Gyôr Summer.
