Anthony de Mare re-imagines Sondheim

Champion of classical contemporary music, Anthony de Mare is going on tour with an ambitious project- LIAISONS: Re-Imagining Sondheim from the Piano. It’s an intrepid program featuring 36 short solo piano pieces crafted by composers ranging from Steve Reich to Ricky Ian Gordon. You can see him perform LIAISONS at the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival May 1 - 2.

Marc Bamuthi Joseph at Bates Dance Fest

For three years Marc Bamuthi Joseph has been working on an evening-length work mixing fierce poetic text, dance, music and film. The result is red, black & GREEN: a blues (rbGb). This collaborative performance piece gives voice to people often excluded from the mainstream “green” movement, challenging and inspiring communities to create their own definition of sustainability. You can see rbGb at a special performance of Bates Dance Festival April 27-28.

The Screaming Eagle of Soul
