Tinariwen at San Francisco Jazz

tinariwen09_bluedesert Tinariwen are the preeminent ambassadors of the Tuareg culture of the Southern Sahara, mixed with electric blues. For their latest album “Imidiwan: Companions”, they returned to Mali to record tracks that reflect the desert’s air and sky. You can see them at the San Francisco Jazz Festival, February 21.

Absolute Bach Inventions

443_full_width Absolute Ensemble has nothing to do with vodka and everything to do with defying genres. From a classical music base, this group explores jazz, hip hop and gypsy music. They will be performing Absolute Bach Inventions, a new take on this composer’s two-part compositions, at (Le) Poisson Rouge in New York city on February 19.

Art vs. Science at Good Vibrations
